Who We Are?

Government Medical College or Shaikh-Ul-Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan Medical College or S.M.M.H. Medical College is a state medical college located in Saharanpur. It was inspected by NMC and given letter of permission for admission of first foundation batch in 2015. The faculty is highly qualified and selected directly through UPSC. The State Government aimed to create a state-of-the-art quality medical education, training, medicalcare and cutting-edge research institution with the motto,
"Hospitals with a long tradition of excellence have demonstrated abundantly that research enhances the vitality of teaching, teaching lifts the standards ofservice and service opens new avenues of investigation"

• To fulfill the glaring deficiency of an undergraduate Medical College in the Union Territory of Chandigarh which offers the best educational facilities in all other fields. The Government Medical College will be attached to a teaching hospital.
• To act as a center for Continuing Medical Education Programmes for various. categories of technical and non-technical personnel of different disciplines working within and from other institutions/hospitals.
• To render facilities for conducting research activities relating to different specialties, as and when required.

Government Medical College & Hospital was now a major teaching institute imparting undergraduate and post graduate Medical Training in all allied specialties of Medicine, Surgery, and Gynecology. At this point Medical services became more specialized and differentiated. It was time for expansion. One of the major achievements of this expansion was separate 100 Bed Maternity Hospital at Pilakhani, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh 247001.
